Have you ever wanted to compete in Amazing Race or Eco-Challenge? Do you have memories of scavenger hunts as a kid, working with your friends to reach checkpoints and accomplish a goal? Now is your chance to relive those experiences with GEL’s Urban Adventure Race.
Our Urban Adventure Race experience is fast-paced, impactful, and – most of all – fun. Foster collaboration and encourage your team to think with a “we” mindset as they work together to complete challenges and master a customized racecourse.

GEL’s Urban Adventure Race Program splits groups into teams of 4 to 10 people to navigate through a series of checkpoints. Teams will be challenged to plot their own route, complete mentally stimulating and creative activities, and ultimately, work together to finish the race as a team.
The program can be customized to fit your organization’s goals and preferences. An urban setting makes the experience accessible for everyone, while also allowing for unique mental and physical challenges along the way.
The Urban Adventure Race experience will foster interdependence, trust, and leadership flexibility among teams while promoting the concept of “we thinking.” Participants will benefit from a day outside of the office completing an engaging race program while bonding with their peers and developing skills that will continue to benefit them after returning to work.

GEL will work with your company to design a customized race tailored to your team capacity, objectives, and location. Participants will strategize as a team to quickly and effectively complete the course.

GEL facilitators teach participants basic NAVIGATION SKILLS to help them traverse the race route. Teams will use compasses, trail maps, or other navigation equipment provided by GEL to plan a route involving hiking, biking, kayaking, or other modes of transportation. Checkpoints along the way have varying point values, so teams must develop a strategy to optimize their route.
To reach pre-defined checkpoints, teams will put their heads together to answer SCAVENGER HUNT-STYLE QUESTIONS designed to test their knowledge of basic trivia, local history and culture, or company-specific facts.
Along the way, TEAM SPIRIT CHECKPOINTS will encourage teams to show their creative side by taking group photos and collaborating to complete challenges at specific locations.
WORLD CLASS TEAMS CHALLENGES, designed in collaboration with Robin Benincasa incorporate a GEL-designed experiential exercise such as a climbing wall or kayak paddle relay to encourage teams to think on their feet, strengthen leadership skills, and communicate effectively under pressure.
Once the race is completed, GEL facilitators will lead a DEBRIEF designed to surface insights and actionable takeaways participants gained about their relationships, working styles, and leadership that can impact team success back in the office.
