Sailing an 84-foot yacht is an opportunity most people in their lifetimes will not have the opportunity to experience. Especially aboard a boat designed to compete on the world stage of the most elusive yachting race.

The America’s Cup is known as the pinnacle of yachting and is the oldest trophy in international sport. And one that the United States held for 132 years! Throughout its history, the America’s Cup has enchanted sailors and business leaders from around the world.

Group Experiential Learning has a long and dedicated passion to the sport of sailing and offers three different and unique experiences aboard an America’s Cup yacht. For each America’s Cup program, GEL’s team will plan and coordinate the special experience with your designated point of contact to ensure that all objectives and goals meet your expectations. We also capture the experiences, along with your participants, to provide a photo gallery that will help tell the story of your adventure on San Francisco Bay.

Three Unique America's Cup Experiences

America’s Cup Team Bonding Cruise – An Exhilarating Group Experience

GEL’s America’s Cup Team Bonding Cruise is a simple, yet exciting experience to get your team out of the office and out on the San Francisco Bay. The cruise typically lasts for three hours and accommodates 20-30 participants aboard a powerful 84' America's Cup yacht.

America's Cup San Francisco Bay Challenge – Strategy Combined with a Little Competition

The Bay Challenge combines navigation strategy with your team's communication skills to race a preset course in a bonding-style team building program. It is a three-hour racing experience in which team members who wish to participate, rotate and share various physical roles aboard the yacht during a timed run on an America's Cup racecourse.

Facilitated Bay Challenge – a High Performance Teamwork Challenge

A professional facilitator customizes your program to your company’s offsite objectives and ties the experience to high performance teamwork in the office. Advance consultations and customization help curate a meaningful program to meet your goals and expectations. 

The America's Cup High Performance Teamwork Challenge with Brad Webb adds the special dimension of sailing with an America's Cup veteran and current member of Oracle Racing. Brad grew up on the shores of Wellington harbor in New Zealand sailing small dinghies and skiffs before moving up to keel boats. With aspirations of becoming an international yachtsman, Brad traveled to more than 200 regattas across 16 countries. In a professional sailing career spanning 18 years, he has competed in six America’s Cup competitions and won several world titles.

This experience is a three-hour team racing experience customized and facilitated by an experiential training consultant. GEL recommends a group size of 14 participants, although up to 20 can be accommodated. Like many customized programs, it’s difficult to state the exact price for the High-Performance Teamwork Challenge, but the cost typically ranges from $7,500 – $12,000.
