describe the image

Vincent DelPidio was born and raised in southern New Jersey. While a freshman in college, he joined the Marine Corps Platoon Leaders’ Class and was commissioned in 1997 upon graduating with a B.S. in Chemistry. Vince earned his Naval Aviator wings in 2000 and reported to a tactical helicopter squadron in San Diego, California.

Captain DelPidio was deployed aboard the USS Peleliu during the September 11, 2001 attacks and spent the bulk of his first deployment working in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. After returning from his first deployment, Vince left the cockpit to join the infantry as an aviation specialist. Over the course of 18 months, he marched to Baghdad, returned to the US, deployed to Okinawa, and then returned to Iraq to support operations in the Haditha and Fallujah areas. Captain DelPidio welcomed his return to the cockpit and departure from the tactical world on his swansong tour flying an executive airplane and business jet. After completing one last deployment, Captain DelPidio resigned his commission in late 2007 and joined the civilian workforce, primarily as a subject matter expert, writer, and researcher in the area of command and control systems and systems evaluation.

Vince is a yachtsman and all around water sports enthusiast. Although he recently restored a classic cruising sailboat, he is passionate about yacht racing and spends many weekends going around buoys or racing down the California coast.  Professionally, he has been drawn to the water as well, managing an America’s Cup charter business, and serving as the general manager of J World Performance Sailing San Diego, an organization consistently ranked at the top of the nation's sailing schools.  In that role, Vince managed the J World relationship with GEL, and now serves as one of our fly-in facilitators. He is also involved in several start-ups in the marine industry and always looking for his next opportunity.

In his teambuilding and leadership development role, he blends his military, aviation, and yachting experience to help teams better understand how their group dynamic affects the accomplishment of strategic business goals.
